It is hard.....

This week I skipped Monday at the gym......... I was so tired and did not have any inspiration.
But on Wednesday I first had massage from the physiotherapist, and then went into the gym. I still have to be careful with my foot, but it is getting better. I have really experienced this summer how important good feet are for the back!! As most of you know I have big curves, 90 and 85 degrees and very little pain. After the surgery in June I have been walking "funny" because of pain, and my lower back really hurts 😢 I am sure it will be better as soon as the foot is ok, but I am not very patience.......

This is what I did at the gym:
Level 8, speed 70, I only managed 10 minutes this time

25 kg, 10 X 3

I love to balanse on this ball! I really feel my posture gets better 👍

For my fractured vrist
To do this the best way I have my arms crossed on my chest. Weight as you see on next photo, 47 kg, 10 X 3

This is the rowingmachine I use. Level 9, 10 X 3. As you can see 12 is max.

This is mostly for my posture. Only 12 kg, 10 X 3
I have managed 40 kg, but 30 is max just now. 10 X 2

A little bit tired when I have finished 😊
Tomorrow is a new day at the gym, I have to get back to do 3 days a week again 💪💗

I hope you all are ok?

YES! Finally back in the gym!

Yesterday I was first with my physiotherapist getting a most needed massage 💓 After walking a little  "odd" this summer because of the surgery, my back, hip, hands and shoulders are pretty bad. So it was good/bad to get a massage 😉
After the massage I started on my excersises. I know I am too optimistic so I started out on the treadmill with 11% increase, speed 5 km- but had to stop! Tryed with and without shoes, but my toe and my hip was too painful. So I choose the other excersises instead,- some with the same weight, some with less.
Standing on the half fitnessball balancing feels really good for my body, so I did it 2 times.
The wrist I had surgery on last winter (because of fracture) is not ok now because of me using the cruches, so it is nice to work with the manuals again. 3kg was ok 😊

I also did back extension (40 kg, 10X3 times), pulldown (30 kg, 10X2), pectoral fly/rear detoid ( 12 kg, 10X3), "roing" (stage 9, 10X2)

My hip was really bad while I was doing these excersises,- but it was important for me to get started again 💪

It is important to enjoy life outdoors too,- so when the weather is nice it is ok to go out with my new bike, and to enjoy an icecream 🍦
Today I really feel that I have been using my upper muscles again=sore,- feels good!

Maybe I should tell you about myself again? I live in Norway, was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 4 (now I am 62), got a body plaster when I was 6-7, and started with braces after the plaster. First Blounts

And then Milwaukee. I used braces for 8 years, but my curves where bigger after using them 😢 When I started treatment my S-curves where 40+, after 8 years wearing braces my curves where 60+, now they are 90 and 85 degrees. I have never had surgery and I am happy for that! I am so lucky because I have just small pain. Except for a small asthma and daily headache since I was 4 (because of my neckmuscles are in constant cramps).
As you can see the big curves do not show much either, and the right angelwing is pretty small 👍💓

I live a great life, and has never let scoliosis stop me from doing what I wanted 💗 Studies, working, travels, hobbies indoor and outdoors.

If you want to ask my about my back, life, treatments or what ever,- feel free to do so 🙋

Cold summer and only short walks

This summer has been cold in southern Norway, the coldest in 30 years 😢 My body function much better in warm weather, - what about you?
Because of the weather and the surgery on my foot Dennis and I have mostly only managed small walks.

Bored while I am picking Blueberries

It is better for my back to walk on than the streets in the city

 I always say that I have very small pain despite my big curves (90 and 85 degrees) but I think it may be because of some of my remedies to help me:
Here is my black, folding cruches, my Nordic walking poles and my brand new bike

Photo taken a few years ago,but curves are the same (90 and 85)
One of my hobbies are gardening, and even with the cold weather I have some colours to enjoy.

Since many nights have been belowe +10C in July, I had to put the Chili inside

 This week my physiotherapist is back from summer vacation, so finally I will be going to the gym on Wednesday 👍💪 I think I have to start lower than before the surgery, but I will also get massage and I really need that on my back now! After surgery I have not been able to walk fully on my right foot so now my back is aching,- of course 😞 But I know it will be better in a short while!
I do not have car right now (it is rusty and old so I have to get another), but before I parked it for good we managed to take a walk a long our favorite water.

Rolling in the Blueberries 😉

Waterlillies
I hope you all have a nice summer? Maybe warmer than I have? Or maybe too warm? I wish I could live on my paradise island Gran Canaria this winter, I really want warm weather, and not falling on the ice like I did last winter! 🌞

BIG HUGS TO YOU ALL 💓(I really would like if you leave a comment or photo,- or maybe you can tell your story or what kind of excersises you use?)

I want to go back to the gym!

Starting to be a little impatient! After I removed the plaster, stiches and pins in the foot I have been very sore. Problems walking straight, but I know it is just a matter of time...... But I still cannot go to the gym because my physiotherapist is on his summervacation 😟
BUT today I got my new bicycle! I still need some of musclehelp from my nephews to put it together,but it is gordious 💗

Dennis helping me 😊

Nice colour?
I will show you the bike when it s finished, and I have Dennis' basket on 😍
I have borrowed a manual from my friend's son so I can train my vrist because it is getting worse again now I have to use the cruches 💪👍
Looking foreward to walk properly again because this makes my back hurt.

We have finally nice warm temperature and I enjoy life 💓

How is your summer? Hope you don't have much pain, and that you have sunny warm weather?

                                                        BIG HUGS FROM ME 💖

Enjoying summer

As you know I have a small pause from the gym because of the surgery on my foot (bunion).
But I am not just sitting inside and get bored! Sunday I was looking after my brother and his wife's little cat,Zorro 💓

I love wild,small strawberries <3

Iris my mother planted before she died in 1969 <3
All the naturephotoes are from our familyfarm where I and my brother grew up,- a beautyful childhood with cows, horse, hens, pigs, sheep and a cat. And our grandparents and parents 💓 Our ancestors came to Kongsberg because someone found silver in our mountains, and King Christian IV (king of Denmark and Norway) founded silvermines.

I walk on my foot now, not fully and sometimes with chruches, but "OK". Will take the plaster off in 2 weeks (just in time for our jazzfestival 🎶),- that will be nice 💪and then I can go back to the gym again 😎

Matching feet 😊

I hope you all have a nice summer (or winter if you live down under 😉), and that you don't have too much pain! And remember it is still scoliosis awareness month 💗

Another pause from training

On Friday I was at the hospital for a long wanted surgery 👍
For many years I have been bothered with bunions on both feet and finally I was going to get it fixed 😊
As you can see I have bunions on both feet, and I have big problems finding nice shooes.

Done 😊 And I love the colour of the plaster 💓
I had my last visit at the gym on Wednesday and this is what I did:
* Treadmille: 11% 5 km, 15 min. Heartrate 104/max 111, 154 calories lost 😉

* Back extension: 10X3, 47 kg holding my hands on my chest not on the handles (that's the way I can feel my back muscles are working, not not my legs)
* Torso rotation: 10X3, 25 kg
* Pectoral fly: 10X3, 12 kg (this is for my posture)
* Balanse on the half fitnessball (BOSU ball)
* Pulldown: 10X3, 30 kg
* Seated legpress: 10X3, 55kg

* "Roing": 10X3, 9

Hopefully I can go back to the gym next week doing arms and back excersises 💪 And hopefully I can drive my car again in the weekend, it is automatic so even with the plaster it should be ok 🚗

The calender say we finally have summer,but the nice warm temperature has only been here a few days. I really miss a warm,sunny period! 🌞

How is the weather where you live? Sunny? Rainy?

Big hugs to you all 💗
